Luke’s career has covered many facets of the music industry; from 8 years as Director of A&R at Universal/Manifesto, to being Executive Producer of the classic ‘Cafe Del Mar’ album series and a dj’ing career that has seen him play clubs & festivals across the globe for 20 years, even recording a Radio 1 Essential Mix. Luke’s wealth of experience has all fed into Listen Up.
James and Luke joined forces in early 2011 to form the press arm of Listen Up. Together they’ve taken the team from 2 to 30 full time. In early 2015 they set up the LA office of the company where James runs all business endeavours. In James’ 16 years in the music industry his portfolio of covers, extended features and number 1 records is hard to beat. Prior to James and Luke partnering up in Listen Up he managed the world famous fabric in London’s online promotion and record label releases in all territories worldwide. James then set up the bespoke online promotions company Macked before partnering with Luke in Listen Up.
Jacko brings a wealth of experience to the team with 15 years of London DJ residencies at venues such as The Cross, Turnmills and Pacha. At Defected Records Jacko also spent seven years as Promotions Manager working closely with A&R and some of the world’s most renowned music producers and DJs, as well as being Executive Producer for the Defected Radio Show.
Joining Listen Up in 2016, Nick heads the newly formed digital marketing division. Bringing with him a range of experience consulting for a host of festivals and as a digital campaign manager for Atlantic Records UK where he worked on some of the successful releases of the time including #1 albums from Ed Sheeran, Jess Glynne, Rudimental and Clean Bandit, earning a place in Music Week’s 30 Under 30 list for 2016.
Cecilia has strong, first-hand experience in a number of multi-faceted electronic music publicity roles, including her time at Magnum PR in New York and a role at Rephlektor Inkorporated – a position that saw her work alongside some of the world’s biggest electronic artists. Before joining Listen Up’s North American business arm, Cecilia also served as Director of Publicity at Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records in Los Angeles.
Grace is our Joint Head of Press who runs the artist press team alongside Erin. Her career in music PR spans over a decade to date and she’s one of Listen Up’s most experienced PRs. Having secured numerous international magazine covers and some impressive lifestyle features for our artists she has a constantly expanding print portfolio. Grace works a varied roster of clients at Listen Up, working with some of our biggest pop acts to smaller underground artists.
Erin has been with Listen Up for over 4 years and with each year has grown in role and management. Erin has played a big part in the growth of the press team and now oversees a department of 11+ staff, alongside Grace. Erin takes pride in nurturing underground acts as well as breaking new talent. Over the years she has also worked on various top ten records and worked closely with teams at Parlophone, Colombia, Virgin EMI and more.
Having worked across a number of departments in his time at Listen Up, James gained a wealth of valuable experience during his first two years, undertaking roles at both National and Specialist Radio, Club and even Radio Syndication. After a further two years dedicated to working solely within our National Radio department, James’ work ethic, varied skill set and well-rounded approach thus made him a natural choice to take up his position as Head of National Radio.
Carina has recently headed up Listen Up press campaigns for the likes of Ministry of Sound club, We Are FSTVL, Extrema Belgium and MADE Birmingham. She started her career with Bang On PR where she worked across a host of artist campaigns, as well as branching out to working on event based projects like Lovebox and Meltdown festival at Southbank Centre in the UK. Honing in on a love for live events, she then worked with Family PR on festivals including Primavera (Spain), Wilderness and Somerset House Summer Series in the UK and now brings her experience and skills to the Listen Up events team.
With over 4 years experience in events promotion and PR, Joanna works on artist and label press for Listen Up’s extensive roster. She has secured a number of high-profile international magazine covers and editorial spreads for Listen Up’s clients. Joanna leads national and international campaigns for clients including Alesso, Steve Angello, Axwell & Ingrosso, Tiesto, and successful labels such as OWSLA. With a huge personal passion for electronic music, Joanna brings a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise to the table.
Charlotte brings 5 years of PR experience to her role as a Senior Press Manager at Listen Up. Having worked across many of the company’s major acts, including Fatboy Slim, Galantis, Martin Solveig and Jonas Blue, plus numerous number 1 single campaigns and demanding high profile shoots and press days, Charlotte has established a wealth of contacts and a well-rounded understanding of the ever-changing world of press.
Joining Listen Up this year, Peter Meeuwsen has over four years of digital marketing experience at one of the biggest independent dance labels Spinnin’ Records where he worked on marketing and releases for labels such as Musical Freedom & AFTR:HRS (Tiesto), Hexagon (Don Diablo), Heldeep (Oliver Heldens), Fly Eye Records (Calvin Harris) and of course Spinnin’ Records itself.
Another product of the reputable internship programme at Listen Up, Josh gained knowledge and experience working across Club, National and Specialist Radio. His focus within his role as Radio Promotions Manager is now on National Radio and assisting with the growing portfolio of festivals the company looks after.
Ben has worked in the music industry since 2008 in a variety of different capacities. Starting with influential online music magazine Live For The Funk while still a student at the University of Colorado at Boulder, he has worked for Seattle’s Decibel Festival, co-founded music app Craaave, managed DJ Shadow’s Liquid Amber label and now serves as a Press Manager for Listen Up’s LA office.
Previous to joining Listen Up, Dujon worked for Southampton’s highly rated Junk Club, Lovebox Festival and UK label PMR Records. Since joining the company he has risen from his original role of Press Co-ordinator to Press Manager where he has brought a wealth of industry experience and passion to a range of clients from Loco Dice and Solardo to legends Armand Van Helden and Wiley.
An audio and music Production graduate, James has assisted world-renowned Engineers and Producers in studios across London, most notably at Metropolis Studios. James joined Listen Up through the internship programme as a Radio Promotions Assistant, bringing his knowledge of bass music and production values to the table.
With over 3 years of experience in the music industry, Katerina has worked at boutique PR agencies as well as an in-house assistant for music management companies, working across both established and emerging artist projects. Through previous roles, Katerina has developed an array of skills and knowledge, bringing passion and enthusiasm to her current role as Press Manager at Listen Up.
Gaining a degree in Communications, Olivia started her career at Impressive PR working across a host of artist and event campaigns including Electric Daisy Carnival, before branching out to both celebrity PR and crisis management. She has also previously interned at both Sony and Universal Music, bringing a wealth of experience to her role as Press Manager.
Having been part of the events team at Listen Up for three years now, Liberty has built on her background in fashion promotion and marketing to work across a wide range of festival and club campaigns. An integral part in the Parklife festival press team and across AMP’s Lost & Found festival and We Are FSTVL, Liberty has also worked closely with a range of UK and international club promoters such as LWE and Ministry of Sound.
Emily has been part of Listen Up’s Los Angeles team for over a year and has grown in her role and expertise in this time. Utilizing her 4+ years of experience in the music industry, Emily works across a wide range of the company’s major artists and labels leading national US and international campaigns for clients such as across our varied roster of genres, in addition to representing Tiësto’s Musical Freedom Records and Steve Angello’s Size Records.
With 3+ years of experience in Radio; Kimia is a lifelong music enthusiast whose background stems from marketing, customer relations, and passion for pushing the musical envelope. Kimia joined Listen Up to pioneer North America’s Radio and Club Promotions department, servicing records to variations of radio format including college, fm, specialist, satellite and online radio. Her unique thirst for discovering new talent, as well as her determined work ethic are the pinnacles on which Kimia has powered her success.
Having worked in the music industry for over 8 years, LJ came to Listen Up with an array of previous experience from product management, marketing and management roles, taking the jump across to press in the years leading to joining Listen Up. Having worked both sides of the Atlantic at both majors and independent labels, she brings international knowledge of the press landscape for both established and emerging acts across multiple genres with passion and drive for outside the box thinking.
Coming from a freelance media background with time in editorial, Tommy has employed industry experience to progress via an internship here into PR. Still active in radio, writing and events he brings creativity to coordinating across our campaigns.
Prior to joining Listen Up, Miriam worked as a freelance music journalist for publications such as Mixmag, Pulse and Ibiza Spotlight whilst completing her French degree. This culminated in a fast-paced summer in Ibiza covering the events on the island. She joined the company shortly after in the artist and label department and has gained a wealth of press experience in the time since.
Abril joined the US publicity team in early 2016 as a Press Coordinator. She assists on national US campaigns for Black Coffee, Elrow, Seeb, Erick Morillo, and more, in addition to representing successful labels including Tiesto’s Musical Freedom. With over 4 years experience in promotion, Abril brings a wealth of industry experience and passion to her role.
Having previously worked in student and regional radio as well as running underground music events, Tom’s skillset is honed to that of Music Promotion. Starting out as an intern and advancing through the program, he now works as part of the regional radio team on specialist campaigns.
With student and regional radio under her belt, as well as a few years spent travelling, Victoria made the move to London, joining Listen Up last year. Since starting, she has advanced through our internship programme, now working across both National and Specialist Radio. Her passion for music, alongside a determined work ethic and vibrant energy, make her the perfect fit to the team.
With over two years experience working in a University Law Library, Katherine’s organisational skills, hands-on approach and keen eye for detail have proved vital to her accelerated development at Listen Up. Initially starting as an admin assistant, Katherine was quick to adapt to our fast-paced office environment and after playing a key administrative/organisational role in our recent office move, was the natural choice to take on her role as Office Manager.
Sarah spent several years travelling the world before settling back in London. She previously worked as an Administrator both within the NHS and for a busy insurance company before joining the Listen Up team where she carries out an array of duties in our operations, accounts and HR department.
